Gemini Notebook

Gemini Notebook
Q&A on your own documents, free to use; well suited to internal training.
Google's research assistant (formerly NotebookLM): ask questions about your own documents and create audio summaries, video summaries and mind maps.
Overview
NotebookLM is Google's research assistant. Since July 2026 it has been renamed Gemini Notebook, but it remains a standalone app and keeps existing notebooks. Unlike a general chatbot, it answers based on the sources you add and includes citations right in the answer.
You can load PDFs, web pages, YouTube videos, audio files, Google Docs and Google Slides into a notebook. From there you can create audio summaries (Audio Overview) or video summaries (Video Overview), mind maps, reports, flashcards, quizzes, study guides, infographics and slides.
For small businesses, it is a quick way to turn scattered documents such as procedures, catalogues and tender files into a searchable knowledge base for staff. It supports more than 80 languages and works with a personal or work Google account (organization accounts need an admin to enable access).

Real-world example
A chain of 3 pharmacies in Hai Phong puts all its sales procedures, medicine storage guidelines and customer care policies into one notebook. New staff listen to the Audio Overview on their commute, take the quiz the tool generates, and when a situation is unclear they ask the notebook directly and check the citations to see which document the rule comes from.
Tips & notes
One topic per notebook
Grouping documents by topic makes answers more accurate and easier to control.
Use approved sources
Load only official, up-to-date documents so staff do not look up outdated information.
Always check the citations
Check the original passage before acting on it, especially for professional or legal content.
Not a substitute for professional advice
Google notes that answers can be wrong and do not replace medical, legal or financial advice.

Can a company Google Workspace account use it?
Yes, but an admin needs to enable access for the organization.
